Mexican Gold Libertads
The highly sought after Gold Libertads were initially struck in 1 oz Gold in a Brilliant Uncirculated finish in 1981. The design on the coins minted in 1981 and 1991-1994 was based on the historical Centenario coin that commemorated 100 years of Mexico's independence from Spain. The Gold Libertad that was struck in 2000 showcased a new design that included the historical coat of arms surrounding the coat of arms of Mexico. These Gold bullion coins are famous for their low mintages that make it more difficult to come across backdated coins, therefore adding collectibility to the series. There are even fewer coins available in this perfect MS-70 grade, certified by NGC.

Mexican Mint
The Libertads are produced at the Mexican Mint, otherwise known as La Casa de Moneda de Mexico, in Mexico City. It is the oldest mint in North America and its most prominent client is the Bank of Mexico. The Bank of Mexico produces currency and coinage for the country in addition to Precious Metal coins.
