Mahatma Gandhi
Born in 1869, Mahatma Gandi was a prominent leader in India's fight for independence from British rule. He championed nonviolent resistance, known Satyagraha, and inspired millions to join the freedom movement. Gandhi led campaigns, including the famous Salt March, and advocated for social equality, women's empowerment, and the eradication of poverty. India finally gained independence in 1947, but Gandhi was tragically assassinated in 1948. His legacy as the "Father of the Nation" lives on, inspiring peace and justice worldwide.
