Pre-1965 90% Silver coins, sometimes referred to as junk Silver or scrap Silver, are a great way to start your Silver investments. These Silver coins were pulled from circulation with the introduction of copper/nickel clad coins and the rising demand of Silver. The public saved them for their 90% Silver content as a rainy day fund they can fall back on.

Barbers are one of my favorite coin designs. I read the reviews and should have known better, but figured i would give it a try. I got a mix of dates and some were in average circ or better condition. The majority however were culls and slicks. Some were worn so bad you could not make out ang of the stars on half dollar side and definetly could not see a mint mark. I jave bern buying more and more with apmex. This is the first item i am really disappointed in.

Misleading images. Most are worn to high heaven. Received 35-40% some cull pieces with holes and major dents, and some have even been cleaned. Not happy with purchase.

- Common (higher mintage)
- Poor Condition

Ordered a roll of these for silver content----they are sure enough well worn. In fact, 20 of these Barbers were the exact height as just 16 of my Franklin halfs---though the Franklins were in AU condition. That is still a 20% silver discrepancy when compared side by side. Glad I did get the Barber roll for historic value, but if you are buying for silver content, the 100 or 200 coin lots of Franklins or Walkers are the BETTER BET.....No doubt....
- Pros
- Recognized Brand
- Attractive Design
- Cons
- Worn Down Silver
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Condition is expected but very scratched and dinged up. I don't know if they come like this or the rolling of the halves is what causes it.
- Pros
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Condition Is Expected
- Recognized Brand
- Easy to Sell
- Cons
- Very Scratched Up
- Bottom Line
- No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: As the description states, these are labeled as average circulation coins. With these being used as currency so long ago, it's common for there to be wear and tear. We apologize if your coins showed up beyond this fine line of "acceptable" wear. We've alerted our Customer Service team of your issue and they'll be reaching out to you in an effort to make this right.

Never owned any Barber Halves, and was happy they were available. Out of 20 coins, I got 17 different dates. All dates were readable. Just keep in mind they are worn a bit thin so silver content could suffer by as much as 10%.
- Pros
- Easy to Sell
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
