1953 Chevrolet Trucks
The Chevrolet 3100 pickup trucks made in 1953 brought the American market new stamina and safety with heavier, more ridged and durable construction. This Advance Design series was also the first major redesign of the truck since World War II. These heavy-duty models were also known as "farm trucks" and supplied bigger horsepower and higher compression ratio in an advanced Loadmaster engine. Advanced for its time, Chevy's 1953 3100 pickup trucks delivered an excellent valve-in-head engine for quicker acceleration and greater hill climbing ability. These were the greatest Chevy trucks built and were sought after for their greater economy from previous Chevy models. New stamina plus extra gasoline savings in heavy-duty models with Loadmaster engine reduced hauling costs per ton-per mile, and these became the icon for the Chevy truck line. Seventy years later, the 1953 Chevy truck is now a classic, fetching high premiums at auction. With the curvy design and unique windows, the 1953 Chevy truck has become a symbol for 1950s Americana and is tremendously sought after by collectors.
