I got this for my neighbours elderly father; an artist that displayed a lot of crucifix themes in his later pieces. He was so delighted to receive this set and the Indo-Scythian Silver Drachm coin. It was so nice to see his authentic happiness. Makes a nice gift.

Placing a nail in the Christmas tree to symbolize the crucifixion is a very old tradition, and what better than a 2000-year-old crucifixion nail from Judea? The coin being from the same time is also very cool, but bronze does not so age well, and it is hard to make out detail. All in all, this is a fascinating piece of history

Let me start with what is great about this. I absolutely love the story of these being discovered in Roman Judea and the idea that these things were here at the time of Christ. I bought two, one for my wife and one to give away. They arrived together safely in what I feel is reasonable amount of time. They are nicely packaged and can be displayed the way they arrive. I had read not to open the plastic display box in other reviews, so I was ready to fight that natural urge. What surprised and disappointed me was there is no accompanying letter or information sheet. As the buyer you know what you purchased, but try explaining it when you give it to your wife or friend. I would rather pay a couple of bucks more and get documentation too.

To answer earlier complaints, the nail and mite come prepackaged in a floating frame design with the mite and nail already in the frame. THEY WILL ONLY FALL OUT IF YOU OPEN THE FRAME. you may ask yourself, "how can I keep this from falling out?" simple, DON'T OPEN THE FRAME. That being said I love this piece and got a whole bunch as gifts, may even reorder. Such a unique piece of history and a spectacular desk ornament. Goes great with any old roman era coins you may have as well.

I purchased this for my adult daughter and grandkids. The coin is much smaller than you might expect yet in exceptional condition and is encased in a holder of it's own, and the nail is in very good shape considering it's age. I only wish the packaging and framing of the items were more sealed. It closes with a magnet connection which, when opened, allows the items to be taken out, yet also allows for the possibility for the coin to be lost. But overall I would recommend this item.
