The increasing value of Silver caused the discontinued use of Silver in American coinage. These $5 rolls of 90% Silver are an excellent entry point to increase your Silver holdings!
    Coin Highlights:
    • Contains approximately 3.575 oz of .900 fine silver.
    • Each roll includes $5 face value of pre-1965 silver dimes, often referred to as "junk silver."
    • Comprises only Roosevelt Dimes, Mercury Dimes, or a mix of both, all minted by various U.S. Mints including Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco.
    • Every coin in the roll is dated 1964 or earlier, featuring historic U.S. coinage designs.
    • These coins were saved by the public for their silver content after the U.S. Mint ceased using silver in everyday currency.
    • Offers a smaller investment option with low premiums over the spot price of silver, making it an affordable way to acquire silver.
    • The roll provides a convenient and compact method to store silver, ideal for those who prefer fractional silver investments.

    Dimes Series
The U.S. Mint's Dime series features some of America's most iconic coin designs, including the Winged Liberty Head (Mercury) Dime and the Roosevelt Dime. The Mercury Dime, minted from 1916 to 1945, is celebrated for its intricate depiction of Liberty wearing a winged cap, symbolizing freedom of thought. The Roosevelt Dime, introduced in 1946, honors the 32nd President of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and remains in production today. Both designs were struck in 90% silver until 1964, when the rising cost of silver led to a shift toward less expensive metals.

    Historical Context
Pre-1965 90% silver coins, often referred to as "junk silver" or scrap silver, represent a unique era in American monetary history. As the value of silver began to rise in the mid-20th century, the U.S. government decided to remove silver from circulating coinage, replacing it with Copper/Nickel clad coins. This decision led to the widespread hoarding of silver coins by the public, who recognized their intrinsic value. These coins, often kept as a "rainy day" fund, provide a reliable store of wealth that has endured through economic fluctuations, making them a prudent choice for investors seeking stability in their portfolios.

    Why Choose This Product?
These rolls of 90% silver dimes offer a low-cost entry into silver investing, with premiums over the spot price kept to a minimum. Their small denomination allows for easy fractional investments, making them an attractive option for those looking to accumulate silver without committing to larger, more expensive bars or coins. The historical significance of these coins, coupled with their silver content, makes them a versatile and valuable addition to any precious metals collection.

I ordered one roll of five dollar face value, and also a five dollar face value roll of average circulation. all of them are in great condition I didn't get one of them that was smoothed out. Every single one of them had a readable date, and I even got two mercury dimes out of it which I thought was awesome sweet little bonus. will be ordering more ASAP.

Fantastic buy!

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Purchased some while on sale just for the bullion. What I was sent surprised me as I was just expecting literal "junk", semi-slick coins. What I got was a mix of Fine to AU/BU Roosevelt's, Fine/Very Fine Mercury's and even got a good Barber. I've ordered numerous times from Apmex and have always been more than satisfied with their awesome service. Thanks again Apmex!

Great Purchase

I got my first roll of these dimes in the mail today. 19 Mercuries, a fair number of 64s, and a variety of other dated Roosevelts so a great mix no matter what you're after! I already have another roll on the way and I'll be getting more in the future.
