American Silver Eagles

First released in 1986, the American Silver Eagle is the United States’ official Silver bullion coin. Every year, the 1 oz American Silver Eagle is produced at three different mints across the country but are not marked as such by the U.S. Mint. The mint of origin is only identifiable by the sealed monster boxes the coins ship in or the serial number assigned to each box. Along with the Silver bullion coin, the U.S. Mint also produces Silver Proof and uncirculated versions for purchase. While the U.S. Mint does have these American Silver Eagle coins for sell, they do not sell directly to the public. Instead, the U.S. Mint work together with a select list of companies authorized to sell their products to customers. APMEX is one of those select few authorized to sell U.S. Mint products directly to our customers.

2021 American Silver Eagle Designs Type 2

To celebrate the 35^th anniversary of the first Silver Eagle this year, the 2021 Silver Eagles were redesigned. The obverse of the coin depicting the famous Walking Liberty design will remain the same with the addition of Adolph Weinman’s initials on the face of the coin. Along with the slight addition on the obverse, for the first time in the history of the series, the reverse will have a single eagle, carrying an oak branch, coming in for a landing. Due to the new design and mid-year introduction, the coin mintages are very limited.
