Gold Certificates are a fascinating piece of American history and make a great addition to any collection. Gold Certificates, along with Gold coins, were removed from circulation in 1933, due to President Roosevelt’s policies to manage the impacts of the Great Depression. While Gold Certificates are no longer redeemable for Gold, they are still legal tender.
