Lincoln Cents were struck beginning in 1909 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Lincoln's birth. This coin has a unique mint error: The "S" mint mark has been repunched on top of a horizontally aligned "S".
Coin Highlights:- Designed by Victor David Brenner.
- Individual coins come in protective packaging.
- Obverse: Depicts a bust of Abraham Lincoln. "S/S" mint mark located below the date. The remnants of the Horizontal "S" can be seen protruding from the right-hand side of the vertical "S".
- Reverse: Depicts two wheat ears and the denomination and features the designer's initials at the bottom.
- Exact mintage figure for this variety is unknown, but it is estimated to be quite low given the overall mintage of 1,825,000 coins.
