This is a great opportunity to get a unique Korean War era held $2 U.S. Red Seal Note. This note was inscribed with "Pusan-Korea - 19 Oct. 1950 / Good Luck" which was a pivotal date in the war.
This is a unique 1928-G $2.00 U.S. Legal Tender Red Seal Note. Above the portrait of Jefferson is "Pusan-Korea - 19 Oct. 1950" (Modern Day Busan South Korea). On the left and right side of the portrait are the words "Good" and "Luck" respectively.
After United Nations forces under the command of U.S. Army General Douglas MacArthur arrived in Incheon near Seoul, they successfully cut the supply lines of North Korea. Rapid advancement of U.N. forces drove as far north as the Yalu River, the border between China and North Korea.
This month-long development caused an alarmed China to launch a massive push of Chinese soldiers across the Yalu River on the date commemorated on this Good Luck $2 bill dated October 19, 1950, pushing U.N. forces back into South Korea. From that time forward the fighting, and subsequent division of North and South Korea, centered around the 38th parallel.
This is a great item for the collector with a deep interest in military historical pieces. - Specifications
