This attractive coin was issued by Augustus to commemorate the ascension of Julius Caesar to Godhood in July of 44 BC. A comet appeared while Augustus organized games to commemorate the death of Caesar, which made Romans believe in Caesar's deification.Coin Highlights:
- Roman Silver Denarius of the Emperor Augustus 27 BC-14 AD. Struck circa 27 BC. Approx. 3.7 grams.
- Struck at Pergamum.
- First Roman emperor.
- Coniditon is considered to be Choice Fine, and has an excellent strike and surface.
- Obverse: Bare head facing right. CAESAR.
- Reverse: Bull standing right. AVGVSTVS.
