This 25 cent fractional currency note bears a portrait of Robert J. Walker, secretary of the Treasury. It is the variety with a red seal and the long, thin key in the Treasury seal.

- Face: Portrait of Robert Walker, secretary of the Treasury (1845-1849) at left.
- Back: Green printing of the obligation at right with a scalloped 25 CENTS, and an intricate border with different varieties of the value "25" at the corners.
