Coin Highlights:- Designed by Chief Engraver Christian Gobrecht.

- Obverse: Liberty sits upon a rock facing left, her right hand positioned above a Union shield. In her left hand she holds a staff topped with a Phrygian cap, with thirteen stars arranged around the design.
- Reverse: Displays a left facing eagle bearing the national shield on its chest, clutching an olive branch in one talon and three arrows in the other while its wings rise upward.
- Coins struck in Philadelphia do not have a mint mark.
