Fantastic for Stackers and Coin Collectors Alike!

I already had three of these that were all year 1980. I purchased seven additional from APMEX and three were 1979 and one was four were 1980. Very happy with my purchase.

These gem classics have several things going for them...

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

These are sterling silver, rare, so can be melted directly to jewelry or traded to jewelers. Though wouldn't do this unless in desperate times. Limited 2 years of mintage! And personally they lack all the typical Greek/Roman parasitic controller cult symbolism that dominate 99% of all gov minted coins and generics who try to mimic them. I like the balance scale and mint press. Both symbols of integrity which is what silver money is all about.

  • Pros
  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Collectible (lower mintage)
  • Easy to Sell
  • Mint Condition
  • Recognized Brand
  • Bottom Line
  • Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Nice Mexico Silver

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I don't have a lot of Mexico silver so I decided to get one of these. It's a very large coin. These were only minted a couple years. Mine is a 1980. Description says avg circ but mine was in very good shape. I'm not a grader but I'd estimate close to AU, maybe slightly below. I'm pleased. Thanks APMEX.

cool piece, but mine had gunk on one side

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

i would buy a couple more of these because i like the idea of sterling silver coins, but the one i received was in kinda rough condition with brown residue on one side. normally not a stickler but the picture is very much not indicative of the condition i received. still neat to have 1 but thats all i want if the coins are at the least not clear of gunk

  • Cons
  • Poor Condition

Very nice condition - -

These Onzas are large. The three I reeived (all that were available) are 1980 date, and in really fine shape - AU at least. I'm very happy. I'd say they have NEVER been in circulation. No scratches, no dings, no wear! Future consignments may differ, but I can't wait for more to come in. Thanks APMEX!

An excellent choice for investment.

Although listed as Circulated, most of the ones I have purchased are in much better condition. Featuring one of the most attractive designs I have ever seen, these coins retain their value and then some. The best thing about these is that because they are listed as Circulated, they are usually a couple dollars cheaper than the AU/BU ones. Although only .925 purity, the 33.625 grams of it equal one full ounce of pure silver. These coins are an excellent alternative to the Silver Libertad. Unfortunately, they are not always available for sale and thus, are highly coveted. As soon as I see them back in stock, I purchase as many as I can without hesitation. Worth every single gram!
