I purchased one of these to see what I could get. The coin was BU condition. I put it in a guardhouse capsule and placed it in the safe. It got put in with several dozen Morgan Bu’s and AU’s. I’m not able to distinguish it from any of the other coins. Was really hoping it would stand out for the extra cost. Maybe all the other coins are just really nice

The Morgan Dollar I received was in great condition! it had arrived secure and well packaged. The proof likeness of this coin is very attractive! Everytime I look into the reflection of this coin it's like looking into my soul. beautiful! Great as a desk topper!

The way a proof-like coin was first described to me by a certified numismatist was a coin that has a mirrored finish. She said this was the result of the accumulation of silver material on the dye when it was minted. This assured me that one of the coins i inherited had not been polished.

Obviously the simple notes I put in prior to purchasing these coins means absolutely nothing. I ordered 21 of these proof likes and I ended up with 11 of the 1884-O's. The quality if these coins I received are borderline BU to MS-62, sort of what I expected. I am sure if they qualified for a higher grade they would have been sent into a grading service. When these were on sale it was somewhat of a bargain. Most of these typically sell for what they are worth - right around 80 dollars or so. For a few more dollars you can buy common date slabbed proof likes in ms63 and choose your dates, rather than be flooded with many of the same common dates.
