Today, I received my 5 peso , gold coin. There appears to be no scratches or dents. Also, my coin is dated, 1906. Not bad for a 113 yr old coin!

I’ve purchased several of these from Apmex. Usually I get 1945 dates. And they’re always in great condition. But this one was a pleasant surprise! A 1906 non-restrike in superb condition. Easy MS63! So I will be sending it off tomorrow.

The price was great and I didn't have any Mexico gold so I purchased this coin, a 2 pesos coin, and a 2 1/2 pesos coin. The condition is nice and is a great addition to my small coin collection.

I like to search the Deals tab at APMEX for special sales when I'm looking to buy fractional gold coins. Often there are incredible prices on some of these unusually weighted and denominated older foreign coins like this Mexican 5 Peso. At APMEX, you can sometimes find these coins on sale for far less of a premium than any other fractional coin on the site, and occasionally, these fractional deals are even better of a cost average than if you purchased a full ounce. I like to do cost averaging when I make my purchases, so when I saw that the price per gram on this deal was the best average of any pricing on the board for the day, it made my decision easy for me.
