MS-67+ NGC 1882-S Morgan Silver Dollar

Morgan Silver Dollars were designed by George T. Morgan who began designing the coin at the age of 27, before he was employed as an engraver for the U.S. Mint. Morgan is credited with coming up with several different designs for Morgan Silver Dollars before the final design was selected seven years later. It is believed Morgan's designs were likely influenced by several different cultures including Greek mythology and art.

Morgan Silver Dollars can be identified by the design featuring a woman, thought to be Miss Liberty, on the front of Morgan Silver Dollars. Morgan Silver Dollars were minted between 1878 and 1904 and again for one more year in 1921. Morgan Dollar coins have been heavily collected since they were first minted.
