Pre-1965 90% Silver coins, sometimes referred to as junk Silver or scrap Silver, are a great way to start your Silver investments. These Silver coins were pulled from circulation with the introduction of copper/nickel clad coins and the rising demand of Silver. The public saved them for their 90% Silver content as a rainy day fund they can fall back on.

I ordered two $1 face value sets at once; received one set of quarters, all washingtons (1941, 1963, and 2 1964), and a set of half dollars, both 1964 kennedys. I only wish there could have been some different designs and/or less-common dates included, but I digress. I used this to test the waters of junk silver buying and, having been pleased, will most likely buy again, perhaps a larger face value.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Cons
- Common (higher mintage)
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Just starting to build my silver hoard. This is a great way to add small denomination silver to a collection. In my opinion much better than 1 gram silver bars. My plan is 90% silver including Morgan's and Peace dollars along with American eagles and bar bullion. Buying silver has become addictive!
- Pros
- Easy to Sell
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

This was the first time I have bought junk silver. I read the reviews and was worried about not getting a variety. I ordered $2 face value to try it out and received quarters ranging from 1943 to 1964. I received a very good variety. Only two from the same year (1964) one was Philly mint and the other was Denver. So I actually got a complete variety! The quality was just as advertised with no complaints from me. And as always AMPEX sent the product very quickly.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Recognized Brand
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
