Pre-1965 90% Silver coins, sometimes referred to as junk Silver or scrap Silver, are a great way to start your Silver investments. These Silver coins were pulled from circulation with the introduction of copper/nickel clad coins and the rising demand of Silver. The public saved them for their 90% Silver content as a rainy day fund they can fall back on.

fun,

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

It was like what I would find in pocket change in the 50s and 60s. all half dollars. My preferred denomination. a full date 1917 and a V.G. 1935 s. the rest were culls. But the old coins worn and weary have a aurora history about them that the mint state just don't have .I liked it .

  • Pros
  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Collectible (lower mintage)
  • Bottom Line
  • Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Good buy

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I got two Barber halves, two Franklin's and the rest were walkers. Some been and clipped coins. Most of the Walker's we're slick. One barely circulated Walker had a hole in it. Aside from that I'm happy with my purchase and will probably buy again.

Was worth a try, got some, don't think I'll do this again

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Received 40 half dollars, some interesting and old, most liberty slicks, couple Franklins, received couple Kennedys 1964 and 1969, something wrong about the 1964 wt and edge color and the 1969 well, says they're machine sorted.. won't be doing this again but APMEX remains my place!!

$10 culls, however all half dollars, no variety

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Received $20 face value (2 orders of $10 Each). Was hoping to receive a variety of coins, however, I received all Half Dollars. Three Barbers, Five Kennedy's and the rest a little more Walking Liberty's than Franklins. About 1/3 were defaced with cuts, clips and holes. A majority of the Walkers were slicks, with no dates. Other coins had superglue on them, or black crud, some coins were difficult to identify. Would not purchase again, with the hopes of finding something interesting.

meh, you get what is advertised

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

my order was all walking liberty half dollars. all but 2 were slick, no dates, and from the 2 dated ones one was rather worn with a crush mark in it and the other had some green gunk residue on it. you get 10 dollars FV of 90%, but spend 2 bucks more and you can get a 10dollar roll of quarters which will probably have some BU or whatever condition in there

Fun to search

Fun to search through. My favorite was a 1834 dime with a small hole drilled in it. Some pretty rough stuff in there as expected. Couple clads mixed in but apmex fixed the problem quickly. Will buy again

Interesting Assortment of Culls

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Got my second order of 90% silver culls today. I got mostly standing liberty quarters. Nearly all were dateless slicks with a few having the dates barely readable. Got two Barber quarters...one 1897 and one worn so thin you could barely tell it was a Barber quarter. Got one boring 1961-D Washington also. Condition was exactly what I expected and I was 100% happy with my order. I like the old ones....so much more interesting than newer Washington quarters but the down side is that more silver is worn away so you don't get quite the silver weight you get with the newer coins. I buy for silver content but I'm a hopeless romantic who loves to think of all the people who handled these coins so long ago...
