Pre-1965 90% Silver coins, sometimes referred to as junk Silver or scrap Silver, are a great way to start your Silver investments. These Silver coins were pulled from circulation with the introduction of copper/nickel clad coins and the rising demand of Silver. The public saved them for their 90% Silver content as a rainy day fund they can fall back on.

I was looking to populate a Roosevelt dime book and this actually filled two complete books with the $50 bag, so the $100 bag should do that one better with some coins in better condition.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

The bag included four non-silver dimes (post-1964). So far, Apmex has not responded to my request to make this right.

- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
Merchant response: We apologize for the error. Replacement coins are being sent. Thank you for letting know about this so we could rectify it for you.

I purchased a value bag of 90% Roosevelt dimes for their silver content, and I was quite pleased - 1001 coins in the bag, 3 Barbers ( two slicks, one a very nice 1913 ! ), 11 Winged Liberty (most were VG or better); the rest were Roosevelt, 75 of which were AU shiny 1964s - a total of 15 coins were either bent, slick or badly gouged, not a bad percentage for this type of silver - I recommend this item and will likely re-order in the future.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Easy to Sell
- Recognized Brand
- Cons
- Common (higher mintage)
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

These dimes are a great way to add to your rainy day silver collection. Will be easy to use when the economy collapses and a single dime can be traded for several "today dollars" worth of goods or services. It give a lot of peace of mind to people wanting to be prepared for economic disaster. Fast service, great products. This is not my first purchase from APMEX, and it won't be my last.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Easy to Sell
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Good quality "junk silver", packaged securely and shipped promptly! The count was off a couple of coins, but an email to APMEX customer service was all it took and they sent replacement coins without question. Even the replacements, which were tightly packaged as well as the original order, were shipped using USPS Priority Mail. APMEX customer service has always delivered for me!
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

These are a great way to buy and hold physical silver to make practical smaller purchases in situations of economic collapse. Keep in mind that in such situations, each dime - with its 0.07234-ounce silver content - will likely have a buying power of between $1.50 and $5 in present-day goods, so making change will still be difficult. But these will still be much more practical than attempting to use 1-ounce silver bullion coins for purchases.
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
