Pre-1965 90% Silver coins, sometimes referred to as junk Silver or scrap Silver, are a great way to start your Silver investments. The public saved them for their 90% Silver content as a rainy day fund they can fall back on.

A good buy with low premium

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I ordered two rolls, 33 coins were 1962 and 7 were 1961. There were no 1950's dates. The overall condition was good, although the coins had some milk and carbon spots and hairline scratches and a few bag marks.Half dozen were problem free to the naked eye. Still a good buy. I just wish I could get some earlier dates with my next order of the same.

  • Pros
  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Collectible (lower mintage)
  • Mint Condition
  • Recognized Brand
  • Bottom Line
  • Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

crappy

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I should of known better, after reading the prior reviews.there was a review with marks scratches, dings, milky and brown spots on the ben franklin proofs. about 2 weeks after reading this review there was 1 roll for sale,I bought it and guess what it was the same as what was sent back by the first buyer. stupid me, you would think apmex would have told the consumer about the defects and dropped the price or just not have offered them for sale. crappy business at best if I did that to my customers .......well you know..........

  • Cons
  • Poor Condition
  • Bottom Line
  • No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not Impressed

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Inspected the coins after I received them today. 25% had discolorations and spots. The remainder were acceptable but had a few light marks on them.

  • Pros
  • Attractive Design
  • Cons
  • Common (higher mintage)
  • Poor Condition
  • Bottom Line
  • No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Merchant response: Greg: As these coins used to be used as everyday currency, it should be expected that these will have normal wear and tear, even on the Proof coins. With that being said, we're happy to look at these for you and exchange anything that is wrong at little hassle and no cost to you.

I purchased these proof coins to be graded as a future investment. It is difficult to find quantities of any coin this age in proof condition.
