Pre-1965 90% Silver coins, sometimes referred to as junk Silver or scrap Silver, are a great way to start your Silver investments. These Silver coins were pulled from circulation with the introduction of Copper/Nickel clad coins and the rising demand of Silver. The public saved them for their 90% Silver content as a rainy day fund they could fall back on.

I'll be honest having bought them both. I would prefer the AU. Roll, it's the better value. You're gonna get the same exact coins?

I messed up. Read carefully before you purchase but the coins were in excellent shape

I apparently messed up. It said “random date” over the date and I assumed all the coins were random years, minus a few same dates. That’s were I messed up. They were all the same date and mint mark. On a good note, the coins were all absolutely beautiful BU Franklin Halves as promised. All were MS-61 to63, one that was MS-61 and maybe two MS-64 or 65. Other than my screw up, again the coins were in great shape and will have no trouble trading or selling them to a local dealer for a great price. It’s great to do business with APMEX.

Beautiful Franklins

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I utilized a discount to purchase a roll of BU Franklins. A couple may qualify as AU, and a few may have been cleaned in the past, but they were all shiny with excellent detail. The majority were dated 1963, but approx 7 of the coins were 1960-62. Those who appreciate 90% silver should add a roll of these to their collection.

APMEX must be listening

Early March 2019, I ordered the Franklin BU half dollar roll. I initially was disappointed when I read the reviews (most were high production 1963-Ds). Today I received my roll: Four-'63Ds Five-'63s, Two- '62s Five-'61s Two-'57s One '51 and... One brilliant 1950...Awesome.

VERY HAPPY!

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I was very reluctant to purchase this roll because of the bad reviews, but I received a roll today and am extremely satisfied. I got nineteen 1959's and one 1962. All are definitely BU and at least MS-61 - MS-64. Maybe I got lucky, but I highly recommend this product. The only thing that would have made this an 11/10 is that I didn't get a 1955, but you can't always get what you want :)

very nice FRanklins

These arrived as expected. All of them were 63s which was disappointing, but i knew that was a possibility going in. Still, fine examples with a few of these possibly better than BU.

Disappointed

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Ordered two BU franklin rolls. First roll was a nice BU roll but of course 1963. The second roll actually had 6 coins that we not 1963. However most of these were highly tarnished. The difinition of BU is that the coin should retain most of its original mint luster. So these were different dates but just uncirculated not BU.

Merchant response: We appreciate your feedback. We are sorry to hear that some Halves in one of the rolls did not meet expectation. We will soon contact you via email.

Disappointing ... but as advertised

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

All 20 coins were 1963, the highest production year. Little collection value except they are in reasonably good condition. I'm not an expert, but the grading seems accurate. The product description does say they may all be the same year, so believe it. And don't expect a year of low mintage. A bit disappointed, but still trust APMEX as a reliable dealer.

  • Cons
  • Common (higher mintage)
  • Bottom Line
  • No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Very Good Product

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Most importantly, all 20 coins are indeed uncirculated. Grading ranges from 60 to 63. 16 of 20 are 1963; just wish for more date variety.
