The Spanish 8 Reales coin was the most readily accepted coin by Chinese merchants, praised for its high silver content and reliability. Chopmarks are from circulation in the Far East, where traders would punch marks to verify the purity of the silver.
Coin Highlights:- Contains .798 oz of silver.
- Struck at Casa de Moneda de Mexico.
- Chopmarks will be primarily from China, some from India, and each coin will have varying amounts and types.
- Obverse: Crowned coat of arms flanked by the denomination.
- Reverse: Crowned hemispheres of the earth flanked by pillars and above the date.
Dates could be between 1732 and 1771, struck during the reign of one of three Spanish kings, between Philip V, Ferdinand VI and Charles III. Coins chosen will be determined by stock on hand.
