  • Product Details
This is a nice and popular large size note by the name Tombstone. It is called a Tombstone note due to the frame surrounding Vice President Thomas Hendricks' portrait. Hendricks is the only VP to ever grace our currency. He was VP for Grover Cleveland.

    Currency Highlights:
    • Hendricks is the only vice president to ever appear on U.S. currency.
    • Referred to as a "Tombstone" note due to frame of the portrait looking like a tombstone.
    • Housed in an inert Mylar currency sleeve by PMG.
    • Graded Fine-15 by PMG.
    • Face: Head of Thomas A. Hendricks at center.
    • Back: Obligation language and beautiful engravings with the number 10 showing the denomination.
    • Signatures of Rosecrans/Huston—Friedberg # 292.

This 1886 $10 Silver Certificate is a prized early example of U.S. silver-backed paper currency. Featuring Thomas A. Hendricks in the distinct “tombstone” frame, it marked one of the first series of large-size silver certificates issued by the U.S. Treasury. Despite moderate wear, the note retains strong historical and collector value.

Don't miss your chance to own a foundational piece of 19th-century American currency—add this classic to your collection today!
