Rare 30 Shillings Colonial Note from the Colony of New Jersey and dated May 1, 1758. This note has been split and repaired. This note has been nail canceled.
Currency Highlights:- From a group of notes printed in New Jersey in the Colonial era, prior to the Revolutionary War.
- Authorized by the New Jersey legislature on May 1, 1758.
- Housed in an archival quality currency sleeve.
- Very Good details condition. This note has been split and repaired.
- Nail canceled.
- Face: Features the colony arms with the obligation printed in red.
- Back: A Sage leaf in black printing with the ominous warning 'To counterfeit is death', below the denomination.
This is a tough issue from the Colony of New Jersey as only 10,000 were originally printed by James Parker of Woodbridge, New Jersey. This note has seen moderate wear, but considering it is well over 200 years old, still a great collectible!
