Introduced in 1823, the Cap and Rays design was used on the 8 Reales and the Peso until 1910. These coins are verified and notated as Chopmarked by NGC and would make an excellent addition to any collection.Coin Highlights:
- Contains .7859 oz of silver.
- Chopmarks will be from China and/or India, and each coin will have varying amounts and types.
- Encapsulated and notated as Chopmarked by NGC.
- Obverse: Mexican coat of arms featuring a golden eagle perched atop a cactus, devouring a snake.
- Reverse: Radiant Phrygian cap, symbolic of liberty, with denomination, mint mark, date, assayer initials and composition below.
- Produced at a variety of mints throughout Mexico from 1823 to 1897, when the Spanish Real was replaced by the Mexican Peso.
