These 6 note set displays progressive Back to Face Offset Errors, an uncommon production mistake that occurred during the Bureau of Engraving and Printing's intaglio printing process. When an inked steel printing plate contacted the impression cylinder without a sheet of paper between them, ink was transferred to the cylinder. As subsequent sheets passed through the press, the misplaced ink created offset impressions on the backs of the notes, with each impression becoming progressively lighter as the ink was depleted. Multiple progressive offsets on a single note are rarely encountered, making this an outstanding and highly collectible example of a fascinating BEP printing error. - Specifications
