Pre-1965 90% Silver coins, sometimes referred to as junk Silver or scrap Silver, are a great way to start your Silver investments. These Silver coins were pulled from circulation with the introduction of copper/nickel clad coins and the rising demand of Silver. The public saved them for their 90% Silver content as a rainy day fund they can fall back on.

Hoping for better variety….

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

decided finally to bite the bullet and pick a roll of these beauties up. the coins are in nice condition and while I expected a large majority if 1940s demoninations. I was very disappointed in the variety. One 43s and one 45d… the rest were Philly and ALL were 1942-46. I have 8 x 43… the coins look BU and are in good shape, just disappointed. lesson learned I suppose

Was not as advertised

APMEX wrote: "Your purchase will match the quality of the product shown." No so with my order. 1 coin had a significant scratch, 1 had been harshly cleaned, and 1 had jewelry mounting indentations on the rim. Wish I could post pictures. So now, do I inconvenience myself further with a return or do I keep them?

I'm very impressed with the Walking Liberty Half Dollars. Decent assortment of years. Most definitely AU condition. 3 of them were BU condition. I'm very happy with the purchase and have already ordered more. Thanks APMEX!

Stunning coins, some may even be better than AU!

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I got a decent mix of 1940's Walking Liberties in my roll, primarily 42's and 45's, with a variety of mostly Pennsylvania and San Francisco Mint Marks - The coins were in absolutely fantastic condition, and I have to say that I'm very impressed with what I ordered, especially since I live in the UK where these coins are quite hard to find. An outstanding selection, definitely worth picking up again.

To be 100% honest

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I've spent thousands of dollars here at APMEX and everything has been top notch right up until this order of coins came. I was reluctant to open them but the lack of feather detail on the back of both ends got the better of me. All were in 1940's with the bulk being 1945 and looked as if they had been cleaned. They were "Very Fine" at best , not what I had expected after, paying such a high premium over spot for something labeled as AU . I did not expect BU of course , however, these " like I said above" were very fine at best, an "AU" walking liberty should have that feeling of the semi-sharp edge close to the outside edge, when you rub your thumb over it , not as sharp and edge as an uncirculated WL but almost as sharp an edge , As in "Almost Uncirculated"....Bottom line unfortunately is...... I'm not too happy with the purchase & won't be buying any more of these coins. Sincerely ~RJM December 5th, 2016

"This coin didn't meet my expectations"

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

First off I am a collector, not a dealer. 2nd I am not an expert grader. I have however been a collector for over 50 years. The comment below is my opinion I usually just buy coins for my collection because I like them. This time I decided to buy coins to upgrade my collection and maybe sell the rest and make a little money. There was a nice assortment of coins 2 in the 30's. A few with mint marks. Most were AU just as described. However 3 were no AU. One has a lot of scratch marks. Looks like someone tried to cleans this coin with Scotch brite foam pad at one time. 2 others were simply not AU. The eagles breast was worn smooth on the reverse of both. Sorry, that is not an AU coin. Although it did have some mint luster. I would only grade the two coins XF. Again, my opinion for what it's worth. I will recommend but with a caveat emptor

Walking Liberty Half Dollars AU Roll

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Finding AU Walking Liberty Halves often means having to buy over-graded "Uncirculateds" that are actually AU's. The roll I received from APMEX was satisfactory: some strong AU, as well as a few that I would not pick out for myself. Four had mint marks. I will definitely consider ordering again from APMEX, but I would like to see evidence that the sorting process for these AU coins is a little more strict. Thank you. also: A Required Field for this Review is "Bottom Line", with only 2 choices. I cannot post this review unless I check one or the other. If a friend asks me whether or not I would recommend these, I'll show them the coins and let them decide for themselves. But I'll Check the Box "Yes". : )

  • Bottom Line
  • Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
