Product Details
Only $0.00 per oz over spot
Due to the increase in the price of Silver, the Silver of these half dollars was decreased to 40%. Many Americans saved these coins and most of them are only lightly circulated, making them very desirable.
Product Highlights:- Approximately 29.5 oz of pure Silver.
- Coins come packaged in a heavy duty canvas bag.
- Each $100 bag of 40% Silver Kennedy Half Dollars contains 200 coins.
- These Average Circulated coins are dated from 1965-1969, with an occasional 1976-S.
- Mixed “P” Philadelphia and “D” Denver mint marks.
Protect your product from fingerprints by adding these cotton gloves to your order.
40% Silver Kennedy Half Dollars were the last circulation quality coins to contain any Silver. Add several $100 face value bags of 40% Silver Kennedy Half Dollars to your cart today!
Pre-1965 40% Silver coins, sometimes referred to as junk Silver or scrap Silver, are a great way to start your Silver investments. These Silver coins were pulled from circulation with the introduction of Copper/Nickel clad coins and the rising demand of Silver. The public saved them for their 40% Silver content as a rainy day fund they could fall back on. - Specifications

APMEX had a deal with this bag of coins at spot so I took advantage. There were exactly 200 coins as advertised. Included were 8 1965s, 20 1966s, 75 1967s, 76 1968s, 20 1969s and even a 90% 1964 included by mistake! The condition of the coins varied as about 25% had significant grime, tarnish or wear. About 5% of them were in excellent, above average condition (almost BU) and the rest were as advertised in average circulated condition. Overall I am satisfied with the coins and the value I received from this deal.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

The value Apmex was offering with such a low premium over spot drew me to this product. 199 of 200 were in great condition, far better than “circulated.” A clad, 1977 jfk half was in the bag. APMEX made it right and sent me a correct 40% silver coin. I will certainly be buying more 40% jfk halfs from apmex again in the future.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Attractive Design
- Recognized Brand
- Cons
- Common (higher mintage)
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Apmex is the gold standard when it comes to PM sales. I hadn't opened the contents of the earlier orders received several months back, this is the only merchant with whom I transact that I would do that (trust level). I intend to keep buying as long as I have the funds and it is available.
