Pre-1965 90% Silver coins, sometimes referred to as junk Silver or scrap Silver, are a great way to start your Silver investments. These Silver coins were pulled from circulation with the introduction of copper/nickel clad coins and the rising demand of Silver. The public saved them for their 90% Silver content as a rainy day fund they can fall back on.

Decent coins and quality

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Most of the quarters are in decent shape. I'm more of a silver collector than a coin collector, so I have no idea of the grades. There were easily more 1964's than any other date, but if I'm in it for the silver, that's not a big deal.

Great buy.

Received my roll today. 24 different dates and mint marks. Received coins from the 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s. Grade between about good to extra fine. The real kicker is the 1937 S IN FINE CONDITION. Thanks Apmex.

Nice Range of Dates - No Problem Coins

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

22 different date/mint mark combinations. 2 coins in the 30's, 4 in the 40's, 11 in the 50's, with the remainder in the 60's. Nice roll with no problem coins - the earliest dates were more worn but still a solid VG. The latest dates were high end AU. Earliest coin was 1936, the oldest, not surprisingly, was 1964. I was pleased to see that all the coins were clean and problem free, and they were all not 1964! Dates were as follows: 1936, 1939, 1940, 1941, 1945-D, 1946-D, 1950-D x2, 1951-D, 1952-D, 1954-S, 1955, 1956, 1957 x2, 1959, 1959-D, 1960, 1960-D x2, 1962, 1962-D x2, 1963-D, 1964 x3, and 1964-D x13.

Good Value and superb customer service!

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I have purchased two 40 roll silver Washington quarters. My first purchase I was very pleased-even got one dated Barber quarter. The second time I had a problem with too many standing Liberties with no date and I called to complain and the company fixed the problem quickly to my satisfaction and then some! You see I like to collect them and if no date then they are useless to me. I now know that I should fill in the preference area to get just Washington quarters with dates. It was easy to deal with you guys and I will be buying more in the future and would recommend this outstanding company to my friends! Thanks, Brad.

Other then one of the quarters (standing Liberty quarter) being unreadable and being thinner then the rest. The others were in good/decent shape, I will be buying more.

Hyperinflation insurance

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I got these quarters as insurance against when the dollar becomes toilet paper. While also got impaired proofs while they lasted, the pre-1965 are good to diversify. (The impaired proofs had slightly lower premiums.) As I got these quarters for when the dollar becomes worthless, I have not opened the rolls yet. With this series, I expect quite a few in high grades. I understand the Barber or Seated Liberty quarters come heavily worn, but most of these quarters had little chance to circulate. As the 1963 and 1964 were most common, I expect quite a few of these dates that were largely pulled out of circulation before they wore down very much. Hence less lost silver content. Though I hope to purchase a few Standing Liberty quarter rolls (time permitting while the dollar still has purchasing power), I recommend Washington quarters for beginners. Premiums are lower, conditions are better, and they are better for general use when the dollar loses its perceived value. And, you are still getting silver--far better than the toilet paper quarters we call "money" today. Also, one advantage of these instead of impaired proofs is that many people don't realize that many proof dimes, quarters, and halves dated 1992-S and later come in silver. With a 1964 or earlier date, they just check the date. In the proofs, people need to check the edge for the telltale solid silver edge or that dirty brown line in the middle. No need to check the edge with Average Circulated pre-1965. And if you DO get a 1964 clad quarter, they are so rare that I could sell them to a coin dealer and buy a decent size bag of pre-1965 quarters with the profits while you still can.

Very happy with purchase.

Packaged well and received in a timely manner. I was expecting a bunch of worn coins but I was lucky enough to receive 3 coins in what appears to be BU condition. I recommend buying a few rolls because you never know what hidden tresures you will find. Well done apmex.

I wish I had bought more of these!

I ordered two of these and they are all in really good shape! Even the more worn ones have the date clearly visable. They are really great coins and I got a pretty big variety of dates.

Love this roll

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I really love this $10 face value roll of Washington Quarters - pre1964 coins junk silver 90% silver. I just wish they would have placed heads on one of the ends as both ends show the tails side and I can't see any dates. I would absolutely buy again though because of the value and low premium over spot price. It's nice to have around to barter in case of emergency.
