I saw 13mm on the specifications tab, but until they arrived, I was expecting something bigger.... But it is a ONE dollar gold piece... Even in 1850, $1 worth of gold isn't that much gold. It's a tiny, beautiful coin.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Attractive Design
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Although they're not as valuable numismatically because they're cleaned, the relief on their artwork is good. It's a neat, tiny gold coin I love showing off!
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Attractive Design
- Recognized Brand
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I bought this little gold coin because I have purchased from Apmex before and was pleased with the products. However, when I received this coin I was quite disappointed. I guess this coin used to be jewelry because there was burn marks on the rim and on the obverse like there was a bezel there at one time. The ad said it was cleaned, not damaged. I'm keeping the coin since I need it for my collection. I was going to order a two and a half dollar gold coin but after this experience I will wait and purchase my numismatic coins in person and just use Apmex for bullion.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Recognized Brand
- Cons
- Poor Condition
- Bottom Line
- No, I would not recommend this to a friend
