Own a piece of Great Depression history, this scarce 1929 $5 Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank Note won't last long. Add it to your collection today!

The 1929 series was actually a cost-cutting redesign. The government shrank all U.S. currency by about 25% to reduce paper and ink costs, and standardized designs across denominations. This happened just as the Depression was beginning. Federal Reserve Bank Notes like this one were issued specifically during the banking crisis years (1929–1933) as an emergency measure to get more currency into circulation when public confidence in banks was collapsing. They were backed by U.S. government bonds held by the issuing Federal Reserve Bank rather than gold directly.
