Pretty Good

Pretty good way to invest in silver. All 500 pieces were accounted for, and I had about 40 mercury dimes. Some were in good condition, but most were pretty worn. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase, but if you are paying by check, it takes FOREVER to receive your silver.

A great way to invest.

I've been collecting "junk silver" over the last 20+ years-first starting when I worked in a grocery store as a cashier checker. I'd find, or better yet, "hear" the 'ting' of a dime or quarter at least one or two times during a shift. So I'd exchange one of my dime/quarter for the silver ones. Then over the years of different cashier jobs, it became rarer and rarer to find them. Then I found APMEX and saw they had an opportunity to purchase "junk silver" and I jumped at the chance. I got the $50 bag and requested to receive quarter-and I got quarters! Thank you!!! Only one quarter was a slick out of the bag and no culls, outstanding! These coins are a great way to invest in silver for everyone, as they are very recognizable as coinage and for their silver value. They're not making these anymore, so get these while you can.

Good Stuff!

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Received all Washington quarters with only a few slick standing liberties. Good value and will order again. Just wish they would cull out those slicks before shipping because obviously the weight's not there.

Nice coins — just one little hiccup

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Reasonable price for junk silver. My bag was $50 in dimes. About $35 was in Roosevelts and $15 in Mercury dimes, which was a nice surprise. There were even some earlier dates. The only negative was that one of the dimes was Canadian, but I guess nobody is perfect.

Stupendous Dimes

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I personally enjoy collecting older US coins, specifically anything silver if I can get my hands on it, so buying a junk silver bag was a no brainer. I ended up receiving all dimes in this grab bag, which was perfect since I had recently purchased a junk silver bag and got all quarters. About $39 worth were Roosevelt dimes and close to $11 were Mercury dimes, which actually surprised me pleasantly. All were in great condition, with one or two having a tiny ding here and there. My one complaint was that I had a 1975 dime in there, clearly not silver, and quite a few years off from being silver in the first place. I've had worse, so I'm not terribly upset since overall, the bag had a great variety (As old as 1917 from a few coins). I'd buy again in no time once I save up the funds for some extra spending!

Will buy again.

Got all quts., happy with that. Had 17 Standing Liberty dateless slicks (this appears to be a ongoing company practice based on other reviews). 1 Barber qut. with a few dings. 1 Washington proof qut. Had a roll of 1964 in the mix. The mix was real good on the Washingtons (1930's, 40's, 50's and 60's-(mainly 64). Had mainly P mint mark but there were D and S mint marks. A good mix of good to almost uncirculated on condition. I wanted to fill out a couple of starter albums. This served the purpose real well. Will trade off the extra pieces. The high number of Standing Liberty dateless slicks and that this was noted in other reviews in other bags in reviewing all bags is a real negative. Gave 4 stars. Fewer Standing Liberty dateless slicks in the $50 bag would have been a 5 star order. Overall this beats EBAY by comparison. The slicks can be traded off.

Got all dimes

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I asked for a mix of quarters and dimes but got all dimes. I'm not too upset about it. I had a couple minor hiccups in my order, but APMEX customer service fixed everything. They were professional and polite throughout the process, and I will continue to buy from them.
