Product Details
These PCGS-certified MS-64 Morgan Dollars offer a tangible piece of America's rich past. Each coin, minted between 1878 and 1904, represents a fascinating era of westward expansion and economic change, all captured in BU condition.
The Morgan Dollar isn't just a coin; it's a silver snapshot of a truly wild time in American history! Imagine the late 19th and early 20th centuries – the era of cowboys, prospectors, and rapid industrial growth. These beautiful 1878-1904 Morgan Dollars, each certified in stunning MS-64 condition by PCGS, were right there through it all.
Designed by the talented George T. Morgan, these coins were a direct result of the Bland-Allison Act of 1878, a political compromise aimed at boosting the silver industry after the "Crime of '73." For over two decades, from 1878 to 1904, the U.S. Mint churned out hundreds of millions of these silver beauties. While the specific mintages and mint marks (like Philadelphia, San Francisco 'S', New Orleans 'O', or Carson City 'CC') vary by year, each coin tells a part of that grand story. Even though millions were melted down later, finding one in MS-64, or Brilliant Uncirculated condition, means you're holding a piece that has largely escaped the ravages of time and circulation.
Flip one over, and you'll see Lady Liberty on the obverse, with her flowing hair and a cap symbolizing freedom, modeled by a real American woman, Anna Willess Williams. This design was a breath of fresh air! On the reverse, a majestic bald eagle, clutching an olive branch and arrows, stands proudly, symbolizing peace and preparedness. These details were carefully crafted by Morgan to represent the spirit of a burgeoning nation. Each of these weighty coins contains a substantial 0.7734 troy oz of .900 fine silver, mixed with copper for durability, and measures a significant 38.1 mm in diameter and 3.1 mm in thickness, with a face value of one dollar.
Collecting these MS-64 Morgan Dollars isn't just about owning precious metal; it's about holding a piece of American grit and grandeur. Whether you're a seasoned numismatist or just starting, these coins offer a fantastic way to connect with the incredible saga of the American West and the nation's journey through a pivotal economic era. They're a tangible reminder of a time when silver literally built fortunes and shaped the country.

I ordered 18 of these morgan dollars and received 10 different dates. The only downside is some of the coins are toned. Also some of the PCGS slabs are scratched or have cloudiness. I recommend you buy the ngc slabbed morganso which do not scratch as much.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Mint Condition
- Recognized Brand
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Morgan dollars arrived in good shape, but disapointed that 7 of the 10 coins were of the same date and mint mark.
- Pros
- Mint Condition
- Cons
- Common (higher mintage)
- Bottom Line
- No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: Our Product listings that state either "Random" or "Mint Varies" truly do mean random. We ship from what is available in that product at the time, which could be many different years or designs, or all the same. If specific years, designs, or mints are desired, it is best to purchase from the listings stating that specific item. If you are unhappy, you are welcome to contact our Returns Department for assistance.
