The Morgan Dollar holds a special place in U.S. coinage as it was the first coin to feature Lady Liberty with an American look, rather than the traditional Greek style. Her cap is adorned with wheat and cotton as a tribute to America's agricultural history.
The image of the eagle was also updated for the Morgan Dollar, showing a proportionally correct eagle with beautifully designed feathers. He carries an olive branch, showing America's desire for peace, and is perched atop a bundle of arrows, signifying America's readiness to defend her borders against attack.
The Peace Dollar is highly sought after by collectors, as it experienced one of the briefest minting periods of any U.S. currency and also was the last Silver Dollar to be minted. This popular design was minted from 1921 to 1928, then again in 1934 and 1935 due to changes in legislation.
Anthony di Francisci's Peace Dollar was the result of a contest looking for a new dollar design. His unique rendition of Lady Liberty was based on his wife Teresa de Francisci. Anthony left a window open to let the breeze move Teresa’s hair, creating movement in his design. The eagle on the reverse clutches an olive branch in its talons, symbolizing peace and commemorating the peace seen after WWI.

I bought two Cull and two Worse than Cull silver dollars. Not being a professional, it was hard for me to tell the difference. The ones I labeled worse looked better than the cull. There were dents and scratches, some smoothness but all dates were good and the entire coin was very nice, especially for coins over a hundred years old. These are my coins, I don't care to ever sell them, I cleaned them and love them. I expected poor quality but am very happy.
- Pros
- Attractive Design
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I bought two of these just to check them out. I received one peace dollar and one Morgan dollar. Both had holes drilled in them. The description clearly states “worse than cull”. I got exactly what I expected. That being said, there is a story behind these coins. I only wish that the story came with the coin.

- Value (low premium over spot)
- Attractive Design
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Easy to Sell
- Mint Condition

- Bottom Line

After reading reviews, I wasn't expecting much. All I wanted was a hunk of silver, but what I received was a nice cull Morgan to add to my others. They're all stackers. Silver is silver.

If your looking at this review I would guess your into identifiable fractional silver for "hard" times. From that perspective I think these are an excellent buy. You know you have a US silver dollar.Of my seven coins two Morgans had there "eagle side" roughed up. ( One of these had lose 0.11 oz.) Note: seven perfect coins at 0.7734 would have approx wt. 5.41 oz my coins came in at 5.12. A delta of 0.29oz a loss of 5 bucks over a 100 years. Not bad. Do your math homework to fit your goals. Me, I'll buy again.
