This series was cut short with the introduction of the Kennedy Half Dollar in 1964, making the Franklin Half Dollars even more desirable. Add this $50 Face Value Bag of Franklin Half Dollars to your cart today!
Dates on these coins will be of our choosing and may or may not vary, determined by stock on hand.
Pre-1965 90% Silver coins, sometimes referred to as junk Silver or scrap Silver, are a great way to start your Silver investments. These Silver coins were pulled from circulation with the introduction of copper/nickel clad coins and the rising demand of Silver. The public saved them for their 90% Silver content as a rainy day fund they can fall back on.

Great mix of dates and mint marks. Complete date and mint mark set minus only 8 coins. Some coins appear uncirculated, one almost appears to be a proof, a handful of AU, and a really nice 1952 AU or better. 100 coins in the bag. Can't wait for my next order.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Easy to Sell
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

My $50 face bag had exactly 100 yummy coins. Let's face it...the halves are so much more satisfying to fondle and clank than the small change. The premium is a bit higher than for junk quarters or dimes, but I love 'em.

- Value (low premium over spot)

Very fast shipping! Visible dates, good details. As a bonus, a great range of dates. Unfortunately one colored round and a few with dings, but overall what I expected. Apmex did very well with packaging. The mail carrier, normally fine, severely damaged the original box this time. No worries as contents were complete and unharmed. The 90% BF half is generally in better shape with lower premiums than some kinds of "junk" silver. It is familiar yet different enough that even people who have only used CuNi/Zinc would probably understand it's worth more than face value. Overall, very happy with purchase.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Attractive Design
- Easy to Sell
- Recognized Brand
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

"Average Circulation": Yup...most of these were pretty average circulation. Three or four were kind of heavily circulated (but not at all bad) and three or four were lightly circulated. So the average overall was..."average". At a fine low premium over spot. Totally happy with this purchase.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Attractive Design
- Easy to Sell
- Cons
- Common (higher mintage)
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I've been looking to collect "junk silver". But these Franklin Halves are no junk, they are pretty awesome weight wise in silver and by condition. I recommend this over the Kennedy and the Walking Liberty halves solely because this is one of the more under-collected halves I've seen. People can confuse Kennedy's quite often, because there are both 90% and 40% versions. The Walking Liberty halves are beautiful, but usually more worn, usually reducing the content. These are just beautiful, and are in circulated condition but look great. I even got some that were still shiny. No culls or holes here. Very happy!

I was torn between the Franklins and the Walking Liberty Half Dollars. I decided to go w/ the Franklins because I figured they would overall be better quality due to being the newer edition of the Half Dollar. I was not disappointed, these coins had average wear with a couple in excellent condition (Around 3 looked close to AU). I suggest buying tubes that will accommodate 100 Half dollars on APMEX or ebay when you purchase these so they can easily be stored. I think putting all of them into the cardboard flaps is a little crazy. Overall I am very happy and you can look at each individual coin as a store of your hard work
