Disappointed by damaged PCGS holder

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Coin itself looks fine, like a MS 61 should. But the PCGS holder is obviously damaged on the reverse. A large portion is scuffed badly, looks like someone used sandpaper on it. Upon close inspection the coin itself isn't damaged. Coin should have been sent back to PCGS for repackaging. Disappointed, will be contacting Apmex.

Very Happy!

My first $10 Liberty gold purchase, and I took a chance on the PCGS MS63 "random" year. Two days after placing order, I received a gorgeous, frosty gold 1897 specimen, no spots or serious flaws, with which I am very pleased. I would recommend to anyone!

First gold purchase ever and the package arrived in great condition. Pretty sweet looking coin, got a 1907. The eagle design on the back is especially awesome and powerful looking. It represents the strength and values of our great nation. Happy holidays, wish great health and wealth to everyone reading this!

Overall quite pleased

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I received the actual coin in the photo! (Cert# 1580664). Mildy disappointed that the coin has some "patina" (didn't know that MS grades could have patina), but VERY pleased that there are no consequential scratches, bag marks, or the like, which are common with lower mint state coins. Year 1894 is as good as you can expect for a random date purchase, so thumbs up on the date. APMEX delivered everything they promised on this coin.
