Federal Reserve Notes were adopted for circulation in 1914 for all denominations but the One Dollar. This remained when we switched over to small size notes in 1928 and continued until the early 1960s when the first $1 FRN's were printed. In the interim, these Silver Certificates were the mainstay of our dollar bills in day to day commerce. Although they are still legal tender, their redemption for Silver was ended by the government in 1968. These notes are a great part of history that can easily be added to any collection.
Series 1957 through 1957-B will be of our choice and may or may not vary, determined by stock on hand.

VERY nice. I expected bils with notable wear and issues, but found these to be very clean and definitely "very fine". I really like these silver certificates and will definitely be buying more from here.

The silver certificate was an inexpensive acquisition. The design was slightly different than most $1 bills. I bought it for the historic and artistic merits not as an investment.

- High Quality
- Attractive Design
- Low Cost
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

The price was right, but the notes are heavily circulated. Not crisp and clean as shown in the pictures. You get what you pay for I guess? The notes did show signs of wear and 'crinkled', but on the bright side. They didn't have any strong folds, stains, or discoloration. For under $4 a note I guess you really can't complain, I just expected my note to be nice as pictured.
- Pros
- Attractive Design
- Low Cost
- Cons
- Low Quality
- Bottom Line
- No, I would not recommend this to a friend

These one dollar silver certificates were a great investment! All were good to very good quality, with a couple that were 'crisp and clean!' Had them for a couple of weeks and had an offer from a co-wprker to buy them all! (I still have them). I plan on estating these to my grandchildren (and they are only 14 and 16 years old) with the condition that 'they' estate the silver certificates to their grandkids! A wonderful item that is part of my port folio.
