$20 Decommissioned Bank Dye Pack

• $20 disarmed exploding bank dye pack.

Rarely seen on the secondary collectors market, this pack was used by banks and carried an exploding dye cartridge to stain other cash and the bank robber(s). This pack would have been mixed in with genuine cash that was given out by the bank tellers in the event of a robbery. The packs are unredeemable as more than 50% of each note has been removed. This pack has been disarmed and is legal to own. This is only the second pack to ever be graded by PCGS Currency, but it is the FIRST $20 pack to be graded by PCGS Currency!

These packs are normally never seen this complete as most dye packs are gutted of their internal workings prior to being decommissioned. This pack still retains 95% of the internal components. This dye pack was producted by ICI Security Systems of Bryon, GA. It is the Security Pack FX-05 model and is completely disarmed.

According to Joe Pielago, director of banknotes at PCGS, this is the very first pack of $20 Federal Reserve Notes that they have certified and only the second pack PCGS Currency has certified as genuine.
