    1898 Morgan Dollar MS-66 PCGS
The Morgan Dollar was designed by George T. Morgan based on his earlier work on the Trade Dollar. The Morgan Dollar was minted in different mints across the U.S., including New Orleans, San Francisco, Carson City and Philadelphia. Coins from certain mints will often have a mint mark to represent each mint, such a “O” for New Orleans, “S” for San Francisco, or “CC” for Carson City. Other mints, such as Philadelphia, do not feature a mint mark.

George T. Morgan’s initials, “GTM,” can be found beneath the American Bald Eagle’s tail feathers on the reverse of all Morgan Dollars. The Morgan Dollar was minted from 1878 to 1904 and then again in 1921 until it was replaced by the Peace Dollar. Morgan Dollars a popular choice among collectors and remain highly sought-after today.
