Pre-1965 90% Silver coins, sometimes referred to as junk Silver or scrap Silver, are a great way to start your Silver investments. These Silver coins were pulled from circulation with the introduction of copper/nickel clad coins and the rising demand of Silver. The public saved them for their 90% Silver content as a rainy day fund they can fall back on.

so disappointed!!! apmex is great as long as you’re not letting them choose for you. I got a majority of 44s and nothing, not 1 below ‘41. You would also have to be VERY generous to consider 2/3 of them AU. IMO 10 AU, 30 XF, and 10 VF. Save your money and get an extra bar. Don’t pay the premium for essentially junk silver!

Wow

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Was expecting AU 1940's but was very impressed. A single 1920(p) in AU I know it's higher mintage but was a nice surprise. Had 6 coins from the 30's, remainder of coins from the 40's. 16 different date mint mark combinations, and several coins that were Definitely BU, including one gem 1942 which I upgraded in my US type set. Was very happy will order again!

Good purchase overall

Opened and counted one roll of two with just a quick look at dates no intense scrutiny. 50 dimes exactly most in Fourties with a few Thirties and nothing else which was expected but you always kinda hope right? A very few were EF but some were also better then AU or high AU in my estimation. I would and probably will buy more. One roll is a gift and I am comfortable giving it.

Thrilled

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Bought this AU roll to start my collection of Mercury Dimes. Couldn’t be happier - the coins were (all) in excellent condition and at least AU grade. Out of 50, I got 9 different years and 19 different year/mintmark combinations. APMEX is the best.

The coins did not meet my expectations

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

The Mercury dimes were very attractive but I got only a 39 dime and the rest were in the 40s and in the extremely high mintage. I did not believe they were worth what I paid for them. This is the 1st time I have been disappointed in APMEX.

Impressed

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I was impressed by the quality on these. They were all excellent. There were not a huge variety of dates, 1935 was the oldest, a little variety of mint marks and 1944 and 1945 predominated but all in all I was happy with it.

  • Bottom Line
  • Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Mostly as Expected with Prompt Shipment

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Ordered one roll of AU's asking that they be checked prior to shipment. Upon receipt, one of the coins on the very outside of the roll was clearly an average circulated piece. Shipping costs would exceed the value of the replacement coin. I inspected the rest of the roll, and most coins were 1940's with several 1935 to 39. I found just one other dime that showed clear circulation wear. The other 48 dimes in the roll did not evidence tarnish or heavy soil. A few with scratches, but mostly just normal contact marks as would be expected with counting machines or in the bags when minted. About a half dozen of the dimes were very nice AU's with more luster. The balance would be closer to an AU-50. (While PGCS grading would not be used for such common pieces in this grade, it is likely they might question an AU-50 grade on a few of the pieces as well.) I plan to consult with Customer Service on the two dimes that were clearly not AU. To return the entire roll for just two coins would mean getting a replacement roll that might not be as acceptable as the one already shipped.
