Disappointed the two coins I got are early 1800s I think? One of the coins can’t really read the date the other just guessing . Bought these coins from the reveiews I saw. Wouldn’t buy again. Very expensive for what you are getting. In my opinion.
- Cons
- Poor Condition

- No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Ordered 3 of these and received very nice coins. One had some interesting chop marks, indicating a well traveled coin. The other two were without chops and one is probably VF condition (1791). I will likely order these again.
- Pros
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

As others have also said, the quality of the coin I received was noticeably better than the picture indicated on the website. Mine is a nice 1805 Carlos IIII specimen. Yes, it shows signs of circulation - it is 200+ years old. But other than a very tiny bit (less than 1/16") of corrosion at one spot on the very edge, it's clean, all details are good and it has a nice antique silver luster to it. A very nice example.
- Pros
- Attractive Design
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

The condition of the coin I received is far better than the example on the website, so I was very pleased to see detail not evident on the sample. As always, APMEX delivers excellent value and top-notch customer service.

- Attractive Design
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

They say this could be the coin that George Washington threw across the river.
My "Pillars" 8 Reales is dated 1774, a nice surprise. Obverse in better condition than Apmex sample photo, reverse has a little corrosion, I gotta wonder if this is a shipwreck coin? I enjoy this coin and will share it with kids for a history lesson that they will actually enjoy and absorb. Thumbs up!
- Pros
- Attractive Design
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Recognized Brand
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
