    Morgan Silver Dollars
The minting of Silver Morgan Dollars was a result of the Bland-Allison Act that reinstated Silver as legal tender in February 1878. Before 1878, production of Silver dollars and other Silver coinage had been halted under the Coinage Act of 1873, and this left Gold as the standard economic unit of account. Silver coins had become devalued for multiple reasons, including the discovery of the largest Silver vein in world history. By 1878, Congress decided that U.S. coins should be both Silver and Gold, and therefore, Congress passed the Bland-Allison Act, which required the U.S. Treasury to purchase a fixed amount of Silver each month to be minted into Silver coinage.

    The U.S. Mint
The U.S. Mint has been the producer of some of the most iconic coins in U.S. history. The Morgan Dollar series is another testament to the Mint’s craftsmanship, offering a timeless piece of American numismatic heritage.

Glowing

I absolutely love all soccer dollars but the tube of these I got extremely fast from Apmex might be the most beautiful coins I’ve ever seen. About 10 of the 20 I ordered are all 1896 Philadelphia’s though but they are still flawless

Just light marks. Nice luster, and cartwheel front and back. It's an mint state coin, and I didnt have the 85 Philly yet, so I'm happy to receive it! With apmex, bu actually means bu, which I appreciate.

Second Review

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Second Order of 20. 10 were 1921s, 10 were Varied, 1878-1904. Of the latter, many were 1885s. All were in BU condition, individually packaged in plastic envelopes. All the '21s were BU as well. Overall, APMEX sent me 20 BU Morgans in Perfect condition. Amazing.

  • Pros
  • Attractive Design
  • Easy to Sell
  • Mint Condition
  • Bottom Line
  • Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Excellent BU Morgans

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I received my coins and they were all from the 1800s except one 1900. All were in BU excellent condition. Not many "bag marks" which you sometimes get with coins stored in sacks for 125 years (but still Uncirculated). In fact, the Condition of these coins is the best I've ever seen, in this date range. Bought another 20.

  • Pros
  • Attractive Design
  • Easy to Sell

Packing of item unacceptable

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I bought one of the 1878-1904 Morgan Silver Dollar BU (Random Year) coins. The coin was packaged in a thin plastic packaging. I received an 1896 coin. The coin has some marring on it probably from how it was packaged. The heavier items in the box shift and rub on other items in the box. You'd think that APMEX would place this coin in a heavier thick plastic sleeve like they do for the gold coins. The coin design is beautiful but I'm not happy with the condition of the coin that's supposed to be brilliant uncirculated. Better packaging!

  • Cons
  • Poor Condition
  • Bottom Line
  • Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

20 coin tube. All 20 were unequivocally BU. I'd say 3-4 coins would likely test ms63 2 of them had

Received an 1883-O in MS63 condition, would have graded higher because the front was incredible but the back had slight wear on the eagle’s chest, very satisfied.
