Pre-1965 90% Silver coins, sometimes referred to as junk Silver or scrap Silver, are a great way to start your Silver investments. These Silver coins were pulled from circulation with the introduction of copper/nickel clad coins and the rising demand of Silver. The public saved them for their 90% Silver content as a rainy day fund they can fall back on.

Know what you're buying

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I purchased these mainly for the silver weight and because I like silver coins (but don't have the knowledge to collect). Had a mix of date but most were 1942/1943. I would say all where in pretty decent shape (dates visible, the design front and back visible with out great detail) except one coin that was so worn out it looks more like a blank silver round (no date visible at all, ridges worn out, almost 3/4 of the design on both sides is gone).

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Easy to Sell
  • Cons
  • Common (higher mintage)
  • Bottom Line

Very Nice +++ Coins

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

My very first Purchase with Apmex. I used a holiday Apmex coupon and bought these for an unbelievable deal. All 20 Walking Liberty coins came in great shape. All were from the 1940's, I was hoping for an early coin in ms68 condition but no luck. I'll just keep on buying and trying to find the one they missed or got away.

Great coins

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

The coins i received from Apmex did not have me jumping out of my chair. Although I am giving a five star rating, the coins in my personal batch were very worn with a few slicks. Overall I still love Apmex.

Great Walking Liberty Halves!

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I ordered two of the rolls of Walking Liberty Halves. I realize these are bullion coins, but received coins of better than expected condition, and a nice variety of dates. About half were in the 30's. These are a true bargain against the silver spot price. Will buy more.

Surprisingly nice coins, and an incredible find!

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Compared to the AU condition roll I bought from here a few months ago, I got quite a wide range of dates here - mostly 1941-43, but I also got several 1935's and, perhaps the stars of the roll, a bunch of XF/AU condition coins (1 1943 and 2 1941s) and a 1918-S! I'm definitely going to be buying more of these with finds like this to uncover!
