These 40% Silver dollars were struck soon after the passing of President Dwight D. Eisenhower. In honor of Eisenhower's legacy, President Richard Nixon signed legislation that authorized the production of the first "Ike Dollars" to be released in 1971.
Coin Highlights:
- Contains .3161 oz of Silver.
- All coins will be in protective packaging.
- Obverse: Features a striking profile of General/President Dwight David Eisenhower facing left with the legend of “LIBERTY” above his head. Underneath his chin is the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” with the date at the base of his profile.
- Reverse: Reflects the design of the Apollo XI’s insignia. Depicted is an eagle flying over the surface of the moon with an olive branch firmly grasped in his claws and a small Earth turned so that North America can be seen. Thirteen stars surround the eagle’s flight.
- 1976 Reverse: Depicts the Liberty Bell in front of the moon.

Decent value (relative to the premium on silver coins today). Totally underrated coin. Beautiful proof finish. The reverse is really unique with the eagle landing on the moon. Great coins, will buy a few more tubes of 20.

I bought the proof and the plain bullion. the proof shown here is a horrible representation of how beautiful this coin i received actually is. even the bullion i received is better looking than this coin u have posted here. 4 stars only for not showing how stunning a proof really is!

these coins contain .3161 troy oz. of silver (42%) plus this is an American $1 coin. In silver clad this coin can bring over $22. No problems with this investment. Either as a bullion,or coin for collection.
