I ordered 18 of these and got them a week later. I received 6 1979 and 12 1980 dates. All were AU, a few may push toward BU, but they all looked good together. Some light toning. All in all, exactly as advertised. I like these because there are very few coins in sterling silver, nice to have examples to see how they look.

I rarely purchase "random date" coin offers, but this was such a good deal I decided to give it a try. Without a doubt, one of the most attractive designs I have ever seen (and I've been around). Although only .925 purity, the 33.625 grams of it equal one full ounce of pure silver. These coins are an excellent alternative to the Silver Libertad. Unfortunately, they are not always available for sale and thus, are highly coveted. As soon as I see them back in stock, I purchase as many as I can without hesitation. Worth every single gram!

The original design of this coin goes back to the 1940-30s my grandfathers grand parents would receive these as currency for their labor, in 1979 when they brought out this new desing my grand father would also be payed in these. This coin has a major history in my family which is amazing to be able to hold these coins in such amazing condition, i did two medium size purchases, over all 130 pieces, out of those only 17!! were on the heavely toned side, coins which I sold or traded for $25-30 of goods or services, already surpassing their intial buying price of $22.30. I need to mention that I live in a very mexican latino community who know the coin and probably appreciate it as much as I.

Every single one was Type 5 1980...Random? I think not. I have been purchasing more and more with APMEX and they were beginning to win me over until this speed bump..Disappointed!
