Understandably, you never know what you’re going to get. Sometimes you feel you got what you paid for, sometimes you feel like you really got hooked up, and sometimes you’re left wondering why you spent the money. I must have run into a good batch of these halves. I’ve ordered a few now over the last month or so and while they’re always a common date, they’re legit. Some have beautiful toning, others are blazers. So far so good!
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Attractive Design
- Recognized Brand
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

The coin I received is by far worse quality than the random tube coins I received. it’s crusted and toned beyond belief. It’s a joke to call this BU and because of this I will no longer trust APMEX when buying anything other than brand new bullion.
- Cons
- Poor Condition
- Bottom Line
- No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Ordered a BU random year and received the worst quality coin I’ve received from Apmex. Spotted, tarnished, and worn. Did not live up to my expectations based on experience and rating of the coin. Disappointed after paying a significant premium.
- Cons
- Poor Condition
- Bottom Line
- No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Coin was supposed to be BU condition but has significant discoloration that does not seem to be normal “toning”. Reverse looks like something dripped or splattered on it. For the price paid…. pretty lame. If I submitted to NGC or PCGS, doubtful it would get MS-60.
- Cons
- Poor Condition
- Bottom Line
- No, I would not recommend this to a friend
